A longstanding tradition at antique tractor shows is to feature one brand of tractor at each show. The Kansas & Oklahoma Steam and Gas Engine show will feature the International Harvester line of farm equipment at the 2008 show.

My 1946 Farmall "B" tractor was purchased by Mace Archer around Kirksville, Mo., while he was visiting friends and family in the area. Mace sold the tractor to Johnny Logsdon, my great-uncle. Johnny had started restoration, removing the hood, radiator, grill, gas tank, steering wheel, governor, exhaust manifold carburetor, fuel lines, air cleaner, choke and throttle linkage, head, spark plugs, magneto. Then he decided to sell it to John W. Wilson who took it to his lot in Atlanta.

The Kansas & Oklahoma Steam and Gas Engine Association's mission statement is "preserving the past for future generations." For 27 years, the K&O club has worked to achieve this goal.

I have added a new topic called "Website Info." If you are wondering what updates and web nerd techi things I am doing, "Website Info" is where you will find out. I won't be posting these stories on the homepage, only in the "Website Info" topic.

K&O Monthly Meetings are held the first Monday of the month at 7:00 PM at the K&O Club Grounds west of Winfield. Directions: Hwy. 160 West to John Deere Dealer, North on Smith Road (gravel) 3/4 mile. Club Grounds on the South side of the road.

Sunday, June 11, 2006 was wheat binding day for the Kansas & Oklahoma steam & Gas Engine Association. The wheat was to be used for threshing demonstrations at the club's tractor show in August.
