History of the Wilson County Old Iron Club & Show
The Wilson County Old Iron Club had its beginnings as a rather small tractor show at the annual Homecoming Celebration in Fredonia, which is held each year on the first weekend in October. It has now grown into a larger show held on the last weekend in September with even more exhibits added to the show.
The education of children in the former ways of farming and farm life remains a primary objective of the club.
There is something of interest for every member of the family. Some of the demonstrations even have hands-on participation.

The K and O Chili/Soup Supper held on Jan. 31st at the Cowley County Fairgrounds with the theme "In the Good Old Summertime" turned out to be true. Temperatures were in the high 70's and everyone was ready to get out and have a good time. Prizes of table centerpieces were won by Ariel Feather, Brenda Underwood, Mike Patton, Linda Keasling, Marlene Jansen and Kelly Topper.
I will add that Ariel Feather took hers to Show and Tell at school a few days later.

Great food and great fun! Thanks to everyone who helped decorate and bring all that yummy food!

Tractor Tour

On Saturday, May 13, 2006, members of the Kansas & Oklahoma Steam & Gas Engine Association went on a tractor tour through the Flint Hills of eastern Cowley County, Kansas. After a terribly dry winter, recent rains had begun to refill ponds, and many little streams were flowing. The weather was perfect and the hills were beautiful.
